Mass shootings for the most part are nothing new, except they seem to be happening more often in modern society. You can go back in history and learn about mass shootings that have happened before the turn of the century. The idea of innocent people being shot and killed for no reason is enough for people to want to do something about it. The problem here is that it seems there are not enough people willing to take a stand against it. There are laws in place to protect people but they get broken so quickly enough it is difficult to find another solution before another shooting takes place.

Mass shootings in the United States seem to have different views that make it challenging to find a viable solution. There are young individuals that for some reason are enlightened or inspired to copy off of another mass shooter. Some think having a gun will solve their problem when people caught in the crossfire have nothing to do with it in the first place. There are some areas that may have problems with security in making it easy for anyone with a concealed weapon to enter the premises. Then, gun laws and their related issues bring another argument: is it too easy for people in the United States to get a gun?

There has been progress in trying to make public areas safer but it is a far cry from what things could be like. Schools and other public places have problems with funding when trying to increase security measures. The media has a problem in this as well when they tend to showcase material that can be sensitive to some viewers. Unfortunately, it is reality that younger audiences are being exposed to. In the meantime, more people are focusing on how to stay safe, including what can be done to prevent other mass shootings.
